The fire that started in Rhodes, one of the tourist islands and large islands of Greece, which fights fires, cannot be controlled.

In the news reflected in the Greek media it was stated that some hotels, towns and beaches were evacuated after the fire began to increase its effects.

“THE MOST DANGEROUS FIRE”

Greek fire brigade spokesman Yannis Artopios said about 2,000 people, including tourists, had been evacuated by sea.

Noting that three Coast Guard ships, an army lifeboat and 30 private boats participated in the evacuation operation, Artopios said the evacuees will be housed in cruise ships, schools and gyms.

In the video shared by the Greek model Alexandra Panayiotatrou, it is seen that hundreds of tourists are trapped in a hotel.

Artopios shared the information that the support teams will arrive in Ada early in the morning.
On the other hand, noting that the Rhodes fire is “the most dangerous of all active fires in Greece”, the authorities said that more than 200 firefighters, 40 vehicles, 3 planes and 5 helicopters participated in the extinction work.

The authorities warned that “the risk of fire is high” in the country, where the air temperature will reach 45 degrees today in some regions.

Tourists were evacuated after the fire spread to resorts and hotels.

So far firefighting planes and helicopters have been sent to Greece from Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Italy and France.

BRITISH TENSION

In British media news, it was claimed that British tourists were stranded on Rhodes. It was reported that while approximately 30 thousand people were evacuated from the island yesterday, thousands of British citizens were left alone and there was a lot of pressure and pressure on the local government.

Speaking to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, a woman named Debbie Antoine said she was unable to communicate with her daughter Kelly Nicholls. “My daughter Kelly, her husband and her two children were on vacation at Princess Andriana Resort & Spa. However, neither the hotel nor the airline helped during the evacuation process. They walked for kilometers and only the people who lived in the region gave them water,” she said.

Although it was announced that many tourists were evacuated from the island yesterday, those who could not be evacuated took refuge in gyms and schools.

Speaking to British media, tourists said hotel staff were not providing tourists with food or water and were only giving them towels, while tourists were reported to have lost their belongings with many left in bathing suits and bikinis.

Many of the tourists who were evacuated from hotels were said to have been taken to schools and gyms.
