Chinese siege in Taiwan: They sent warplanes
Taiwan’s Defense Ministry reported that China has sent 37 military aircraft and 7 maritime vehicles around the island.
According to the Taiwan News report, the Defense Ministry announced that 37 aircraft and 7 sea vehicles belonging to the People’s Liberation Army of China (PRC) were detected around Taiwan in the past 24 hours. It was determined that 22 of the 37 aircraft in question entered the southwest, south, southeast and eastern regions of Taiwan’s “Air Defense Identification Area” (ADIZ).
The Ministry reported that they monitor the activities of military vehicles with the intelligence, observation and reconnaissance (ISR) system, and their own defense and patrol vehicles have been stationed in the field. China was reported to have dispatched a total of 369 military aircraft and 146 ships around Taiwan in July.
Taiwan plans to hold the “Han Kuang” exercise, which it conducts every year in preparation for possible invasion attempts, from July 24 to 28 this year.
Taiwan, which China defends as part of its territory, has enjoyed de facto independence since 1949, when the People’s Republic of China was founded. The separation that arose after the civil war between mainland China and Taiwan still continues. (AA)
