From breast milk: 25 different toxic materials found
A study conducted in the US revealed that there are 25 different types of toxic materials in breast milk. The study claimed for the first time that these substances were found in breast milk.
Among the substances found, it was announced that there was bromophenol. This substance, also known as a fire retardant and used to prevent fires, has been advertised as being frequently used in plastics, televisions, household appliances, and electronic devices.
Erika Schreder, who was involved in the research, said: “The presence of these types of neurotoxins is very worrying. “Until governments find a solution to this, the production and use of these products will continue and affect children’s health,” she said.
The study, which included scientists from Emory University, the University of Washington and the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, took milk samples from 50 mothers in the United States. The scientists said that this material can cause problems such as memory loss, regression in motor skills, distractibility and mental retardation.
