Cabinet change in France
According to the written statement of the Elysee Palace, changes were made in the cabinet.
New names were named to replace French Health Minister François Braun, Solidarity Minister Jean-Christophe Combe, Overseas Territories Minister Jean-François Carenco, City and Housing Minister Olivier Klein and Gender Equality Minister Isabelle Rome.
HEALTH MINISTER CHANGED
Consequently, Aurelien Rousseau, former head of the cabinet of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, was appointed as Minister of Health, and Aurore Berge, Vice-Chairperson of the Parliamentary Group of the ruling Rönesans party, was appointed Minister of Solidarity and Family. Berge was previously the spokesman for the ruling party and was elected to parliament twice in 2017 and 2022.
Philippe Vigier, a member of the Movement for Democracy (MoDem) party, who has been a member of parliament for 16 years, has been appointed Minister of Overseas Territories.
The deputy born in Marseille, Sabrina Agresti-Roubache, has been appointed Minister of State for the City, and Patrice Vergriete, mayor of Dunkerque, the city in the north of the country, has been appointed Minister of Housing.
NEW MINISTER OF EDUCATION TURNS 34 YEARS
It was decided that Gabriel Attal, the Minister responsible for public spending, would continue his role as Minister of Education, changing his position. Attal, 34, graduated from Paris Sciences Po University and previously served as an MP, Minister of State at the Ministry of Education and Government Spokesperson.
Thomas Cazenave becomes the new Minister of Public Expenditure. Cazenave previously worked as a financial inspector.
It was decided that the Minister of State for Ecology, Berangere Couillard, should be appointed Minister for the Equality of Women and Men.
Minister of State for Youth, Sarah El Hairy, has been appointed Minister of State for Biodiversity.
Fadila Khattabi MP was appointed Minister for People with Disabilities, while Prisca Thevenot MP was appointed Minister of State for Youth.
Marlene Schiappa, Minister of State for the Social and Solidarity Economy and Life of the Foundation in the Prime Ministry, was dismissed from the cabinet.
Schiappa was criticized for the management of the Marianne Fund, which was established in the country to fight separatism after the assassination of the teacher Samuel Paty in 2020.
