A man named Dan White, who completed his deep diving certifications, and his fiancee witnessed a brutal shark attack while at the bottom of the Red Sea and were able to film the event.

The two were completing their deep diving certifications near the El Ikhwa islands in Egypt when they witnessed the brutal attack.

Meanwhile, an oceanic whitetip shark bit a German tourist on the leg while swimming in the Red Sea.

“We were just five meters down, swimming and looking around a bit,” White told the BBC’s Why Sharks Attack.

“I saw a dark shadow out of the corner of my eye, I turned to see what it was and realized it was a shark. That’s when I picked up the Go Pro and started shooting.” saying.

ADDRESS CHANGED

The footage shows the shark approaching White, who is in the water with a group of five and two trainers.

Then, changing its intentions, the shark turned on the German tourist, a member of another group. The shark, biting into his leg and completely severing his calf muscle, created a cloud of blood in the water.

After the bite, the tourist was pulled from the water and taken to the hospital. Although his leg did not need to be amputated, his calf was completely mangled and the calf muscles and bone were destroyed.

THERE ARE OTHER DEATHS

Although shark attacks targeting humans in the Red Sea are rare, they have increased recently.

The Egyptian Ministry of the Environment announced that a Russian was killed in a shark attack near Hurghada, one of the resorts on the Red Sea coast. Last year, two female tourists were also killed within days of each other by a shark attack in Hurghada.

Among the frequent media coverage of dog attacks this summer was the brutal murder of 68-year-old Elisabeth Sauer by a tiger shark on July 2, 2022, while she was snorkelling in the shallows of the Red Sea.

The mutilated remains of another tourist, Roxana Donisan, 44, were also found in the waters of the Egyptian spa.
