Transformer exploded, many died from electric shock
In the state of Uttarakhand, 15 people lost their lives in a transformer explosion.
A transformer exploded on the banks of the Alaknanda River in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand.
Police officer Parmendra Doval stated that as a result of the explosion, 15 people, including 6 police officers, were electrocuted and lost their lives. Doval shared the information that the injured were taken to the hospital in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand province.
State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who stated that the cause of the explosion has yet to be determined, has ordered an investigation into the incident.
The eruption occurred at a time when most of the country’s northern rivers reached record levels due to monsoon rains.
During the festival in India in April, 11 people were electrocuted and killed when the truck came into contact with a power line. (AA)
