USA: the Ukrainian counter-offensive is certainly not a failure
The Ukrainian counteroffensive to oust the Russian occupier is far from a failure, says senior US general Mark Milley. Ukraine is even making some progress here and there. But Milley expects a long and bloody battle.
Milley cited mines as the reason for the slow advance. He said Ukrainian troops must fight their way through minefields, which currently pose a particularly serious threat. “Losses suffered by the Ukrainians in this offensive are not so much due to the strength of the Russian aviation, but to minefields.”
