Previously, the conscription age in Russia had already been raised from 27 to 30 years. Furthermore, the country has already made it much more difficult for young people to escape mobilization. According to a press release from the Russian parliament, the other age limits for being drafted into the military will be raised to 40, 50 and 55, depending on the position.

Russia also maintains a “mobilized reserve” of men who have signed up to receive periodic military training and a salary upon completion of compulsory or professional service.
More than 60+ people in the military
The new law approved by the State Duma will also force more people over 60 to join the army. For example, former conscripts may still be called up until age seventy, rather than age 65. For other high-level military positions, the limit has been increased from 60 to 65 and from 45 to 55.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said he wanted to increase the minimum number of military personnel – regular and conscripts – from 1.15 million to 1.5 million.
