The Kremlin’s response to Zelensky’s suggestion to “go on without Russia”

The Kremlin’s response to Zelensky’s suggestion to “go on without Russia”

Commenting on proposals that Turkey can protect Ukrainian grain vessels, the Kremlin said transporting grain from Ukraine’s Black Sea ports without security guarantees from Russia would be risky because Ukraine uses the grain corridor for its military activities.

Speaking at the press conference, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed that they rejected Moscow’s criticism of Russia regarding the US withdrawal from the deal. Peskov added that Russia will continue to supply grain to poor countries.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy made a statement yesterday after Russia announced the end of the Grain Agreement: “The Black Sea Grain Initiative can continue without Russia. I have sent official letters to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres proposing to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative or similar in a tripartite format.”

Elenskiy said: “Ukraine, the UN and Turkey can jointly provide the operation of the food corridor and the inspection of ships.” (AGENCIES)
