Zelensky Grain Broker Decision
Zelenskiy’s press spokesman Sergey Nikiforov shared some of Zelenskiy’s remarks on Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement during his interview with African journalists on his social media account.
“WE HAVE NO AGREEMENT WITH THEM”
Stating that there are 2 agreements regarding the Black Sea Grain Initiative, one between Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and the other between Russia, Turkey and the UN, Zelenskiy said: “Therefore, when you said that Russia stopped the agreement, met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and President (Recep Tayyip) Erdoğan breaks the deal. Not with us. We have no dealings with them.” said.
“I PLEDGE”
Zelenskiy also said: “I have instructed our Foreign Ministry to prepare our official signals to the UN and Turkey, following the official signal from Russia, to reply to me as the president of Ukraine that they are ready to continue our initiative.” he used the phrase.
Zelenskiy stressed that they should do everything possible to use the Black Sea corridor even without Russia: “We are not afraid. Shipping companies contacted us. They said they are ready to continue their supply of grains if Ukraine sends them and Turkey allows them through.” he said.
UN STATEMENT OF RUSSIA
On the other hand, the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, stated that Russia “deeply regrets” the decision to terminate the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement. (AA)
