Statement from Türkiye by Biden, who met with the Finnish leader

A written statement was made from the White House regarding the meeting of the two, who met ahead of the US-Scandinavian Leaders Summit in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The statement noted that the leaders reiterated their commitment to support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

Biden congratulated Finland on being the newest member of NATO, saying: “Both leaders are between Turkey, Sweden and NATO, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to approve the accession protocol of Sweden to NATO.They welcomed the final agreement they had reached on the referral to Turkey and underlined their desire that Sweden be accepted into NATO as soon as possible.” Statements were included.

In the statement, it was indicated that Biden and Niinistö also discussed issues such as the economy, communication and climate between the two countries. (AA)
