The creepy claim about the Titan disaster: “They realized they were going to die seconds ago”

The Titanic, which hit an iceberg in 1912 and sank, is one of the most interesting accidents in the world. The ship, which has been the subject of films and documentaries, has come to light in recent years with the shipwreck of the OceanGate company.

The company was organizing trips to the wreck with its vehicles called Titan. While the trip drew the attention of explorers and wealthy names with $250,000 tickets, that all changed in an instant with the June 18 crash.

On June 18, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, along with the five-member crew of French Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, British billionaire Hamish Harding, businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleyman Dawood , they disappeared as they made their way towards the rubble. For days there was no news from the vehicle whose communication with the center was cut off, and finally the news came that the vehicle had exploded.

Shahzada Dawood and her 19-year-old son Suleyman Dawood were among those who lost their lives.

While the event was dubbed the Titanic curse and parts of the vehicle were removed, the company also halted its work. As the investigation into the accident continues, many experts are theorizing about what may have happened in the depths of the ocean.

THEY KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO DIE SECONDS AGO

Finally, the Spanish engineer and submarine expert José Luis Martín presented a chronology of Titan’s last hours before it exploded on June 18.

According to Martin; During Titan’s controlled sinking, an electrical failure occurred that left the ship without propulsion. Martin said that he believes the fatal malfunction occurred at a depth of about 5,500 feet:

“At this point, it begins to fall upside down towards the seabed. Maneuvering is no longer possible because control and safety functions are damaged. The pilot was unable to actuate the emergency lever to release the weights and return to the surface, and probably the lever was insufficient for such an emergency.”

Martín continued: “Imagine the fear and suffering. It should be like a horror movie. It all happened during 48 to 71 seconds of free fall. At that moment, they realize everything. And in total darkness. It’s hard to get an idea of what they were going through at the time. After these 48 seconds or a minute, there is an explosion and sudden death.”

A MORE FRAGILE MATERIAL IS USED

Stefano Brizzolara, a professor of ocean engineering at Virginia Tech, also said that structural problems with the hull could be among the causes of the deadly explosion. “It’s hard to say what caused the structural failure in this case, but any minor material and geometric defect, misalignment of the joints could have started the structural collapse,” Brizzolara said.

Brizzolara added that carbon fiber is very prone to potential defects and exhibits more brittle behavior than other materials.

While the remains of the vehicle are removed…

Since the accident, Stockton Rush has been accused of negligence, although OceanGate has not commented on the matter. Ignoring many problems, the words of the CEO of OceanGate in an interview with the Mexican travel blogger Alan Estrada in 2021 returned to the fore after the accident. Rush says that he wants to be remembered as an innovator in this interview:

OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, who was among the dead, is charged with negligence.

“General Douglas MacArthur said, ‘You are remembered for the rules you break.’ You know I broke some rules to make a Titan. I think I broke them with logic and good engineering behind me.”
