Said “Turkish monkeys”: Racist minister apologized

Finland’s far-right Finance Minister Riikka Purra has apologized for her racist posts.

According to the BBC report, he repeatedly used Purra’s racist expressions in different blog posts in 2008.

The statements of the racist politician provoked a great reaction.

“If they gave me a gun, there would be corpses on the train, you’d see,” he says of a group of young immigrants he met on the train, in an article. In another article, he addresses Somali and Turkish immigrants and uses the term “Turkish monkeys.”

“Is there anyone in Helsinki today who wants to spit on beggars and black children?” he asks in another article under the name Riikka. Purra called these statements from 15 years ago “stupid” and said she apologized to those she offended. Making a statement on his Twitter account, Purra said: “I’m not a perfect person, I made mistakes.”
