Wagner statement from Central African Republic: Giran
The presidential spokesman of the Central African Republic (OAC), Albert Yaloke Mokpem, announced that the accusations that the Russian security company Wagner left the country are not true and that the troops only “rotate”.
Mokpem, in statements to the press, stated that the reports about the withdrawal of Wagner’s troops from the country were not true.
Expressing that Wagner’s troops did not withdraw from the country and only rotated, Mokpem said: “Some (Wagner troops) are leaving, others are coming.”
It was claimed that Wagner’s troops in the OAC, estimated to have close to 2,000 Russian mercenaries, began to withdraw from the country.
The OAC and the Russian authorities signed a military agreement in August 2018 to jointly combat violence in the country. (AA)
