Prime Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed his anger, saying that the administration will clamp down on criminal and serious laws such as the National Security Law which will be enforced.
After this incident, many people called for the attacker to be arrested. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath said on Twitter that this incident dishonored the state and demanded that the criminal receive the harshest punishment and stop the persecution of the tribes in Madhya Pradesh.
Shukla, who was detained by police after the reactions, was arrested under the Misdemeanors Act.

On the other hand, Congress spokesman Abbas Hafeez claimed that Pravesh Shukla was related to the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party MP Kedarnath Shukla and shared photos of the two together to support this claim.
However, Kedarnath Shukla denied the allegations, stating that he did not know Pravesh Shukla and that he was not a member of the BJP. Kedarnath Shukla said that he was with many people in his constituency and participated in many programs.
