Macron’s social media exit: we cut him off when things get out of hand
According to French press reports, French President Macron met with the mayors whose regions were affected by the demonstrations that began in reaction to the murder of the driver, Nael M., at the Elysée Palace.
“We must focus on bans on social media,” Macron said in a statement here. When things get out of control, we must be in a position to regulate or cut off access (to social media).” he said.
In his speech before the National Assembly, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin claimed that less than 10 percent of the 4,000 people detained during the demonstrations were foreigners.
Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti announced that 350 people were arrested as part of the protests.
