The Council of the Arab League held an extraordinary meeting at the level of permanent representatives at its headquarters in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, to discuss Israel’s attacks on the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.

In the final declaration of the meeting, the Arab countries were required to act immediately and establish contacts with the Security Council of the United Nations Organization (UN), its members and other international actors on the issue and give joint messages of high level.

In the declaration, which endorses the measures taken by the Palestinian Authority to combat the Israeli attacks, it also calls on the international community to establish a practical and effective mechanism for the protection of the Palestinian people.

In the statement, it was stated that Israel’s violations against holy sites belonging to Muslims and Christians were rejected, Palestinian sovereignty over Jerusalem and holy values ​​were emphasized, and Masjid al-Aqsa must be protected.

SAUDI ARABIA CONDEMNS ISRAEL

In a written statement made by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Israel reacted to the escalation of tensions in the Palestinian territories.

Condemning the attacks on Jenin in which innocent civilians were killed and injured, the statement warned of the consequences of dangerous violations by Israeli forces.

The statement also conveyed its condolences to the Palestinian people and government for the Palestinians who lost their lives, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
