Wagner Statement by the NATO Secretary General

As part of the preparations for the Vilnius Summit, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with the leaders of seven NATO allies in The Hague, the Netherlands, for a working dinner.

The meeting, hosted by Stoltenberg and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, was attended by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, Polish President Andrzej Duda and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. .

Stoltenberg responded to the question about Wagner’s leader Yevgeni Prigojin at the press conference: “I think it is too early to say exactly where these forces will go and whether they will all go to Belarus.”

“I think it is too early to make a final conclusion about the consequences of the events we are seeing in Russia,” Stoltenberg said. However, we can say that we are of course closely following developments. “We have already increased our readiness and military presence in the eastern part of the alliance,” he said.

RUTTE: NATO SUMMIT WILL BE AN IMPORTANT MEETING

Rutte, who made a statement on the matter on his social media account, said: “The NATO Summit to be held in Vilnius next month will be a very important meeting. “A meeting focused on the growing threat to the NATO region and our relationship with Ukraine.”
