Sandstorm nightmare in Iran: Hundreds hospitalized

The number of people hospitalized in the last four days due to the sandstorm in the Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan has reached 764.

According to the official Iranian agency IRNA, Sistan-Balochistan’s crisis management general manager, Majid Mohibbi, said that 764 people were referred to hospitals and medical centers in the last four days due to fine dust brought by the sandstorm on the cities of the province of Zabul, Zehek. , Hamun, Hirmend and Nimruz.

Noting that 649 people who were taken to hospitals have been discharged, Mohibbi said he is continuing to treat 115 people.

Mohibbi, in a statement on Sunday, said that 330 people were hospitalized due to the dust, and 57 of them were being treated in hospitals.

Ali MollaÅŸahi, Head of the Sistan-Baluchistan Weather Prediction and Warning Center, stated in his statement on the same day that they forecast the dust storm in the northern regions of the province to continue until Monday, with the wind speed reaching 100 kilometers per hour.

Mollashahi had warned that people with heart and respiratory diseases should not go outside because of excessive dust in the air. (AA)
