Former President Donald Trump told visitors about, among other things, a plan to attack Iran and possibly even showed them classified documents. According to CNN, this is evident from an audio recording that the American news site made public yesterday.
The audio recording lasts two minutes, dates back to June 2021 and was made during an interview Trump gave at the time. A writer, editor, and two Trump staffers were in attendance. One can hear that Trump seems to indicate that he has kept a secret Pentagon document on a plan to attack Iran, writes CNN. “These are the papers,” Trump says in the audiotape, discussing the Pentagon’s attack plans. He’s also referring to something he calls “highly confidential” and appears to be showing others, CNN continues.
Trump is currently involved in a lawsuit over his handling of confidential documents. He is accused of bringing such documents, which he shouldn’t have taken home, to his Florida home when he left the White House.
The former president is also accused of showing confidential information to people who were not authorized to do so. Trump told the judge that he is not guilty on all counts.
