Fire extinguisher exploded in high school fire drill: There are dead and injured
One student died and 21 people were injured as a result of a fire extinguisher exploding during the drill held at the Rajavinit Mathayom High School in Bangkok, the Thai capital.
According to the BBC report, officers investigating the crime scene claimed that the tube was damaged due to exposure to the sun or heat, and that the explosion was caused by the damaged tube.
Authorities said one senior student was killed in the blast, 21 students were injured and 7 of the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
The regional police announced that other fire extinguishers used in the fire drill were also seized for examination.
Atthaphon Sangkhawasee, undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, announced that ministry officials have been dispatched to the high school to investigate the incident.
The Undersecretary expressed his condolences to the family of the student who lost his life.
