New Titanic disaster: The man who boarded the vehicle that exploded years ago told what he experienced

A second disaster took place in the remains of the Titanic cruise ship, which crashed into an iceberg in 1912 and sank in 1997 in the James Cameron film Titanic.

The Titan vehicle of the OceanGate Expedition company, which organizes special tour packages charging $250,000 to people who want to see the wreck, exploded during the dive last week, unable to withstand the pressure. Five people, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, died in the vehicle.

Authorities said the vehicle, which ran out of oxygen yesterday, exploded shortly after the dive and said it was difficult to reach passengers.

However, a Greek who got into the exploded vehicle in 2019 announced that he was living in the vehicle for the first time. Technician Petro Mathioudakis, who dove in with company CEO Rush and other officials to test drive the Titan, defended the vehicle’s safety measures. Mathioudakis stated that safety measures were taken during the design and development of the vehicle known as a submersible.

“WE DID 3760 METERS DEEP”

The Greek coach said: “I am following the allegations about the Titan with regret. I see the misinformation and accusations about Titan and it saddens me. Claims that Titan is shoddy or that the team lacks technical proficiency are unfounded.

Stating that they did a test dive with four crew members in the Bahamas and descended to a depth of 3,760 meters (12,336 feet), the man said the test dive lasted 2 hours and passed safety tests.

Rush company CEO, Chairman Joel Perry, and Karl Stanley Deep Sea Research Institute owner Mathioudakis said they were diving together, announcing that they recorded 4K footage during the dive and tested 2G robotic systems.
