US increases support for Ukraine

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that he will provide more than $1.3 billion in additional assistance to focus on the energy and infrastructure needs of war-torn Ukraine.

Blinken spoke at the international “Ukraine Improvement Conference 2023” held in the capital London, hosted by the UK. Stating that they came together to heal the wounds caused by the war in Ukraine, Blinken said: “As Russia continues to destroy, we are here to help rebuild Ukraine, lives, the country and its future.”

Stating that recovery in Ukraine is about more than ensuring that people have what they need to survive, Blinken said: “Recovery lays the foundation for the development of Ukraine as a safe and independent country, fully integrated with Europe, connected to the markets around the world. . Stating that every investment in Ukraine’s recovery is aimed at bringing Ukrainians closer to this reality, Blinken said: “Today, with the support of the US Congress, I am announcing that we will provide more than $1.3 billion in aid additional money to help Ukraine achieve this goal. . “We will invest $520 million to help Ukraine reform its power grid,” he said.

Underlining that Russia is causing the destruction of Ukraine, Blinken said: “Russia will eventually bear the cost of rebuilding Ukraine. Until then, we will continue to support the people of Ukraine, who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend, rebuild and reimagine their country. made his assessment.

Jointly organized by the UK and Ukraine, the “Ukrainian Improvement Conference 2023” is the continuation of the annual events, the last of which was held on July 4-5 last year in the city of Lugano in cooperation with Swiss.

These conferences focus on Ukraine’s development and post-war reconstruction. US Secretary of State Blinken, European Commission President Von der Leyen and Japan’s Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa are among the names to attend the conference.
