UN statement on the Russia-Ukraine war

UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq answered questions on the issue at the daily press briefing.

Stating that there are different peace initiatives for Ukraine, Haq said that the UN’s position is clearly seen in the relevant resolutions of the General Assembly and the Security Council.

“CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE PROCESS”

Haq said the resolutions concerned Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Noting that Guterres “frequently” contacts relevant parties under different initiatives, Haq said: “The secretary-general himself can participate in the process if the conditions are right and he thinks it will work.” If he decides to be, everyone will know it. he performed the assessment of it.
