“Can score goals”: Mihailo Stevanovic replaces Espen

21-year-old midfielder Mihailo Stevanović is moving to St. Gallen from the Lucerne 1879 youth team. The contract with him is signed until the summer of 2025.

After St. Gallen confirmed on Monday that Justin Janicek would join Espen, it was announced on Monday night that Mihailo Stevanovic had signed a contract until the summer of 2025.

Sporting director Alain Sutter says: “Mihailo is a promising young player. He has a lot of talent and he showed in the Promotion League that he can score goals.”

The Swiss-Serbian with dual citizenship joined the youth department of FC Basel 1893 in 2009 at the age of seven and completed all levels up to the U21 level. Stevanović has also been used in various Swiss youth selections. In the summer of 2022, Stevanović joined Lucerne under-21 youth club where he scored 15 goals in 27 games. In the Super League, he played one part in Basel 1893 and one in Lucerne.
