Attacker who stabbed children was transferred to psychiatric hospital
The suspect named Abdalmasih H., who injured 6 people, including 4 children, with a knife in the park in Annecy, France, on June 8, has been transferred to a psychiatric hospital.
According to French media reports, the suspect in the knife attack in Annecy last week was taken to the Vinatier psychiatric hospital in the city of Bron, where he was transferred to a special unit.
SYRIAN REFUGEES DECLARE 4 CHILDREN
In the city of Annecy, France, on the morning of June 8, a Syrian refugee, who declared himself a Christian, attacked people in the park with a knife, injuring 6 people, including 4 children.
In the body search of the suspect, who was detained by the police, a pistol, two Christian paintings, a necklace with a cross, 480 euros and a Swedish driver’s license were found.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin stated that the suspect, whose asylum application was accepted in Sweden in 2013, had a residence permit in this country, and that he had applied for asylum in Italy and France, and that this application was rejected.
The Annecy prosecutor’s office, Line Bonnet-Mathis, also announced that 6 people injured in last week’s attack were not life-threatening and that treatment of 4 injured children was continuing.
It was decided that the suspect would remain in pretrial detention for “attempted murder”.
The suspect was taken to a special cell in case he committed suicide. (AA)
