Investigation into the complaint of issuance of a visa to a false passport
In German media news, it was reported that the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into allegations that “high-level officials of the Foreign Ministry ordered the German Embassy in Pakistan to allow 14-year-old Afghan Muhammad Ali G. to enter the country despite his fake passport and unknown identity.”
Last year, it was revealed that senior officials in the German foreign ministry department in charge of visas had instructed staff at the German Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, to allow the suspected Afghan to enter Germany, despite his fake passport and unknown identity.
Embassy employees protested this instruction, which they considered illegal, expressing that they had significant doubts about the applicant’s account.
After the incident became public at the end of February this year, a former employee of the Ministry of the Interior filed a criminal complaint against the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Prosecutor’s Office then opened an investigation against the authorities on the charge of “perversion of justice” and decided to examine the complaints.
As of March 31, a total of 385,000 Afghans live in Germany. (AA)
