We have continued this tradition by making my first foreign visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus after we took office. I advise these people to put aside their obsessions and face the realities of Ada.

Noting that they also discussed the Eastern Mediterranean dimension of the Cyprus issue with TRNC Chairman Tatar, President Erdoğan said: “We will continue to resolutely defend the rights and interests of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. On this occasion, I would like to remind you that the concrete proposals put forward by the Turkish Cypriot side for the equitable distribution of hydrocarbon resources in and around the island of Cyprus are still on the table. Soon we will make available to our producers the water that we bring from Turkey for agricultural irrigation. We are also going to submit a bid for the 500-bed State Hospital in Nicosia soon.
