Russia: Ukraine attacked our ship protecting TurkStream in the Black Sea
Russia announced that Ukraine launched an attack on the Priazovye ship, which was patrolling natural gas pipelines in the Black Sea, with high-speed unmanned maritime vehicles, but the attack failed.
In the statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, it was indicated that the ship was in charge of “providing security on the route of the TurkStream and Blue Stream oil pipelines in the southeastern Black Sea.” According to the statement, Ukraine attacked in the early hours of Sunday, about 300 km southeast of Sevastopol, the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
The Defense Ministry said that at the time of the attack, a US RQ-4 Global Hawk drone surveillance plane was in the central Black Sea region. “Priazovye, belonging to the Black Sea Navy, continues to fulfill the tasks assigned to it,” the statement said.
