Lawsuit filed against von der Leyen

According to local media in Belgium, the Belgian citizen named Frederic Baldan, who is lobbying and accrediting to the EU institutions, the lack of transparency of von der Leyen in his communication with the CEO of Pfizer, Albert Bourla, during the supply of the Covid-19 vaccine, hence his feelings towards the EU. he institutions and filed an application with the EU supreme court due to loss of trust.

Baldan demanded the dismissal of von der Leyen and the payment of 100,000 euros in compensation.

FILED IN LOCAL COURT

On April 5, Baldan filed a lawsuit against von der Leyen in a Belgian court in order to examine records of communication with Pfizer CEO Bourla. This process, which continues with complaints such as “abuse of office and title”, “destruction of public documents”, “obtaining illegal benefits” and “corruption”, may lead to the lifting of von der Leyen’s immunity.

The EU Commission has procured large quantities of vaccines from some drug and vaccine manufacturers in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, and made its most important contract with Pfizer-BioNTech.

During the negotiations for this provision, phone messages between von der Leyen and Bourla came to light, calls were made to the EU administration to explain the content of the messages, but the EU administration did not share these messages with the public.

“MALADMINISTRATION”

EU Commission officials say there is no rule that requires phone messages from the president and members of the Commission to be stored, only documents should be stored.

The EU Ombudsman reported early last year that the EU Commission was exhibiting “mismanagement” because von der Leyen did not reveal his message with Bourla. (AA)
