Coup to the PKK from Sweden: A first happened

A new movement came from Sweden, which applied for NATO membership with Finland, but whose entry process was suspended for not cooperating in the fight against terrorism and not taking Ankara’s demands into account.

Following the new anti-terror law that came into force on June 1 in Sweden, an indictment was prepared today against a man who provided financial support to the terrorist organization PKK and was involved in armed crimes.

Thus, the Swedish prosecutor’s office was charged for the first time against someone who provided financial support to the PKK, which is officially recognized as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the US. The statement from the prosecutor’s office said: “The investigation supports suspicions that this man supports the PKK”.

In the story quoted by the British news agency Reuters, the man’s name was not revealed, but it was noted that the 40-year-old man was charged with blackmail, a strong armed attack and financial support for terrorism.

Expressen, one of the most widely read newspapers in Sweden, claimed that the man had received a traffic ticket before and was also penalized for drunk driving, and was reported to have lived in Sweden for several years. The man, whose name has not been released, did not comment on the matter.
