31 day strike decision in London

31 day strike decision in London

According to the statement from the Unite union, which is affiliated with security workers, the security guards will stage a massive strike, rejecting the offer of a wage increase below the inflation rate of 10.1 percent.

The strikes will begin at the airport on June 24. The strikes, in which more than two thousand security guards will participate, will last for 31 days until the end of August.

The strikes will include Eid-al-Adha and UK public holidays at the end of August.

The flights of many companies, including Virgin, Emirates, Qatar, United American and Delta airlines, will be disrupted or canceled over the summer period due to strikes, which will also be attended for the first time by security guards working at the Terminal 3 at the airport.

The strikes at Terminal 5 will greatly affect British Airways’ summer flight schedule. Outages are expected to worsen in the coming weeks.

Sharon Graham, Unite’s general secretary, whose views are included in the statement, said the airport has been notified of the strikes and the strikes will continue until employees are offered a fair raise.

Noting that they will fully support employees in this process, Graham said: “Heathrow has set its priorities completely wrong. It is an incredibly wealthy company and it pays huge sums to its shareholders, but its employees are struggling and earn less than those who work at other airports.” he said.

Inflation in the UK, which was 10.1 percent in March, eased to 8.7 percent in April.

There were serious disruptions to air traffic due to strikes in Europe last summer. (AA)
