Kahovka dam proposal from Erdogan’s meeting with Putin and Zelensky

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

According to the statement of the Communications Directorate of the Presidency, during the meetings the developments of the war between Russia and Ukraine were discussed. Erdogan told the two leaders that a commission with the participation of experts from the warring parties, the United Nations and the international community, including Turkey, could be set up to investigate the explosion at the Kahovka dam in Kherson.

In his meeting with Putin, Erdogan said that the investigation into the explosion at the Kahovka dam should be carried out in a way that leaves no room for doubt. Stating that they, like Turkey, are ready to do everything possible in this regard, Erdoğan also expressed that a trading method like in the grain corridor can be followed.

Emphasizing that it will not be possible to avoid the human losses that occur every day as long as the conflicts continue, Erdogan said they will continue their efforts to establish a just peace, stressing that the idea of ​​returning to negotiations must be mastered. (AA)
