Saudi Arabia’s General Institute of Statistics announced that the country’s population will reach 32.2 million by 2022.
It was stated that 18.8 million, corresponding to 58.4 percent of this number, are citizens of Saudi Arabia, and 13.4 million, constituting 41.6 percent, are foreigners.
The most populous foreigners in Saudi Arabia were reported to be from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Yemen, and Egypt, respectively.
It has been recorded that 1.88 million Hindus, 1.81 million Pakistanis, 1.8 million Yemenis and 1.5 million Egyptians live in the country where there are 2.12 million people of Bangladeshi nationality.
It was also noted that 920,000 Sudanese, 449,000 Syrians, 204,000 Jordanians, 129,000 Palestinians, 52,000 Lebanese, 50 Kuwaitis, 45,000 Somalis and 24,000 Tunisians reside in the country.
It was reported that 61 percent (19.7 million) of the current population in Saudi Arabia is made up of men and 39 percent (12.5 million) are women. (AA)
