Eric Asubonteng, general manager of AngloGold Mining Company, said in a statement that 79 of the illegal miners were found stranded at the gold mine in the Anwiam region of Ashanti province.

Noting that the health status of the illegal miners coming out of the gold pit is good, Asubonteng said, “The illegal miners who entered the gold pit without permission came out through the main exit point on their own and are under the supervision of the Ghana Police Service”. he used the phrase.

Asubonteng noted that the company is committed to ensuring the safety of stranded illegal miners.

According to national media reports, the illegal miners had gone looking for gold at AngloGold’s Obuasi gold mine, using illegal entry points in the Anwiam region of Ashanti province.
