Fire at Russian oil refinery after possible drone strike
A fire has broken out at an oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region, possibly caused by a drone strike. The governor of the region reports it on Telegram. He said there were no casualties. Krasnodar, an area with a lot of oil industry, is located east of the Russian-annexed Crimea peninsula.
Last week, two drones caused property damage in the city of Krasnodar. And earlier this month, according to Russia’s state news agency TASS, a nearby oil refinery in the town of Ilski was hit by a drone, setting a storage tank on fire.
In the night between Monday and Tuesday, the Russian capital Moscow had been the target of drone strikes. In early May, the Kremlin said it had shot down two drones that Ukraine planned to use to attack Russian President Vladimir Putin.
