Iran’s reaction to Zelensky: to get more help from the West…

Iran claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s accusation that Tehran is “an accomplice in Russian terrorism” is “baseless and worthless” and that with these statements, Zelenskiy “intends to provide more military and financial aid from Western countries.”

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kenani reacted to Zelenskiy, who accused Iran of “being part of the war against Ukraine by sending weapons to Russia.” Describing Zelenskiy’s remarks as “an attempt to mislead the public and political spectacle combined with baseless accusations,” Kenani said: “The repetition of baseless accusations by the Ukrainian president, in coordination with Axis propaganda and media warfare anti-Iran against Iran State and people, has made more military and military interventions from Western countries, aims to provide financial aid,” he said.

Stating that they are ready to continue expert negotiations between Iran and Ukraine to investigate allegations that weapons were shipped to Russia, Kenani said:

“The refraining of the Ukrainian side from expert negotiations with Iran to investigate the accusations confirms the baselessness of the accusations and the existence of certain political goals and motives behind such accusations against Iran.”

Kenani said that Iran has declared many times that they are against the war in Ukraine, that a political solution should be found as soon as possible to end the war, and that they are ready for all kinds of support in this regard.

Ukraine and its Western allies, especially the United States, accuse Iran of sending kamikaze drones to Russia to be used in the war in Ukraine and of being a party to the war. Iran, on the other hand, rejects claims that it is part of the war, claiming that it “sent a limited number of UAVs to Russia months before the war in Ukraine.” (AA)
