US simulation that will create a crisis from China
According to the South China Morning Post news, the war simulation, the results of which were published in the “Test and Measurement Technology” magazine, was based on the scenario of the US aircraft carrier approaching an island in the South China Sea. that Beijing claims sovereignty over, despite China’s warnings.
In the war simulation, the Chinese forces managed to sink the aircraft carrier and neutralize the war fleet with 24 hypersonic anti-ship missiles fired from different regions at the end of 20 intense battles.
Researchers led by Cao Hongsong of North China University assessed that the US aircraft carrier, “which was deemed impossible to sink with conventional weapons”, could be “definitively destroyed” with a small number of hypersonic strikes.
Two types of hyposonic anti-ship missiles of different ranges and capabilities were used in the simulation, while the missiles were fired from as far away as the Gobi desert in northern China.
The investigators noted that the Chinese military’s war planners followed a “highly sophisticated offensive strategy,” employing a “complex three-wave attack tactic” to deceive and overwhelm the US aircraft carrier’s defense systems.
PUBLISHED OPEN SOURCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
The Ford-class aircraft carrier, which joined the US Navy in 2017, is one of the most advanced warfare vehicles in the country with its advanced missile defense and radar systems.
For the first time in China, a war simulation involving an attack on a US warship has been published in open source.
Noting that war simulations are used to develop strategies for different scenarios, the researchers stressed that they cannot form a basis for real-world testing and evaluation.
The researchers emphasized that real-world missile performance will be affected by unpredictable weather, terrain and other environmental conditions, noting that government officials and the public should approach such simulations with caution and realism. (AA)
