Disgusting event: the clergy sexually abused thousands of children

The investigation, led by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and released yesterday, found that between 1950 and 2019, 451 Catholic clergy across the state sexually abused 1,997 children.

State Attorney General Kwame Raoul said in a statement about the investigation: “My prosecutors and investigators have reviewed more than 100,000 pages of documents held by dioceses and have reviewed thousands of Episcopal files. They have spent countless hours interviewing and interviewing the administration of the diocese and their representatives. And in the course of this investigation, more than 600 clandestine contacts of survivors have been made through emails, letters, voicemails, interviews and phone calls with my office,” he said.

JUSTICE WILL NOT BE DONE FOR THE MAJORITY BY OPPORTUNITY

Chief Prosecutor Raoul stressed that the names and detailed information of 451 clerics were presented in the investigation report.

“Decades of Catholic government decisions and policies have often allowed known child sex molesters to hide from view,” Raoul said. “Many survivors of child sexual abuse by Catholic clergy will never get justice in law, as the statute of limitations often occurs.”
