Activists stormed the shareholders’ meeting of the giant company

There was confusion at the annual meeting of the Shell oil company in England.

Fossil fuel opponents stormed Shell’s annual shareholder meeting in London.

In front of the ExCeL center where the meeting took place, members of the Fossil Free London group protested against Shell with banners in their hands.

The police led the protesters, carrying banners with the words “Shut the shell” and chanting slogans, away from the area with a crow bomb.

It was striking that among the people captured by the police were people in suits.

The resistance of many people to the police was caught on camera.

Due to the protests, Shell CEO Andrew Mackenzie was unable to start the meeting. Mackenzie, who was in front of the building during the protests, reacted to the activists by saying: “We’ve heard this many times before.”

The company meeting last year was also the scene of protests, the meeting was held with a delay of 3 hours.

The issue of climate change is also controversial among Shell shareholders. While some people want the company to do more in the fight against climate change, many shareholders oppose steps to reduce profit rates.
