The second round of the presidential elections has started, France is confused
The international community continues to closely follow the electoral process in Turkey… In the first round of the parliamentary and presidential elections, a new debate broke out in the second round of elections in Europe, which witnessed moments when Turkish voters clashed in France and the Netherlands. .
The setting up of ballot boxes at the Diyanet Mosque in Lyon, France, created a crisis in the country. The reason for this is the establishment of a ballot box at the Diyanet (Turkish-Islamic Diyanet Union) mosque in Lyon, and this is an offense that “requires imprisonment and heavy fines” under French law. The establishment of ballot boxes in the Diyanet premises also goes against the “Separatism Law” and the recently amended “Principles of secularism” in France.
Le Monde, one of the most widely read newspapers in the country, wrote: “They installed ballot boxes for Diyanet, an institution affiliated with the Turkish government, against the principle that you cannot do politics in places of worship.”
In France, it was indicated that the penalty for this is 1 year in prison and a fine of 15,000 euros. YSK votes in the same place in the second round. The matter reached the French government.
YSK SIGNS IN THE FIRST AND 2nd ROUND
On the website of the Supreme Election Board, it is indicated that votes can be cast at the polls in Diyanet in both the second round and the first round.
The address on the foreign elections website is “Consulate General in Lyon. Lyon DITIB, 72 Rue Paul and Marc Barbezat, 69150 Decines-Charpieu. Lyon-France”.
It was claimed that the votes were cast in the same place in the first round of the election and remained in the same place in the second round. This polling station in Decines is advertised as one of 9 polling stations in France where 80,000 voters residing in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region can cast their ballots.

“An urn was installed in the prayer room in violation of the separatism law promulgated in 2021,” Le Monde wrote.
“THE OBJECTIONS HAVE ARRIVED”
In the first round, the issue was reported to local politicians and now to the Ministry of the Interior.
While the ballot box was being installed at the same location in the second round of voting, the famous French newspaper Le Monde stated: “Turkish voters are invited to vote next to the mosque assigned by Religious Affairs of the Government of the Turkish Republic. There were objections to the Home Office that this election was illegal,” he wrote.
LE MONDE: THE SEPARATORY LAW IS PRODUCED
Le Monde emphasized that this situation constitutes a violation of article 84 of the “Separatism Law” approved on August 24, 2021, and which provides for “imprisonment of up to one year and a fine of up to 15,000 euros.”
The newspaper also emphasized that the secularism law was violated and that the principle of not doing politics in buildings for general use of worship, its dependencies, its integral parts and its accessories was violated.
SUGGESTED SUBJECT TO DARMANIN
The newspaper stated that it is not known how the Interior Ministry allowed this situation, which is contrary to the law it has enacted, and wrote that the matter was referred to Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
The issue is expected to become more sensitive during the week and the French government is expected to take action after the Le Monde headline. Voting in France will continue until the evening of May 24, as it does around the world.
