Strong words from Assad to Erdogan: The greatest danger in the region…

Syrian leader Bashar Assad, who attended the Arab League summit for the first time after the outbreak of the Syrian war, took aim at Erdogan in his speech at the summit.

The Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia, which saw Damascus return to the arena of international diplomacy after the war that began in Syria in 2011, began yesterday. While Syria has recently taken steps to normalize relations with several Arab countries and Turkey, Assad was greeted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the entrance to the summit in Jeddah.

In his summit speech, Assad said, referring to the policies of Tayyip Erdogan and AKP, “One of the biggest dangers in our region is the expansionist Ottoman mentality mixed with the counterfeiting Ikhwan mentality.”

“Today we are faced with the opportunity to change the international situation in a multipolar world that has emerged as a result of Western hegemony devoid of principles, morals, friends and partners. “It’s a historic opportunity to reorganize our business with minimal outside interference,” he said.
