Farmers protest against the government with their tractors
Serbian farmers protested in the Novi Sad, Kraljevo, Kragujevac and Subotica regions.
The farmers, who took part in the protest in front of the Novi Sad fairgrounds with their tractors, said they became aware of this protest after their demands were not accepted at their meeting with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimovic.
Goran Filipovic, one of the protesters, stated that the protest was organized for the survival of Serbian farmers, saying: “For now, we will not blockade the city or disturb the citizens. We will stand on the side of the road so that the authorities can see that we are there. We will not move from here until most of our demands are met.”
Another protester, Mileta Slankamenac, claimed that she had problems in her village because she participated in the protests, but reported the situation to the police. (AA)
