Mysterious tremors mobilize authorities
In the statement made by the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), it was reported that the small-scale tremors were not caused by an earthquake or an explosion, contrary to popular belief.
Rumble, click, shake…
In the statement, it was claimed that the magnitude 2.3 tremors, which many residents felt as shaking, rumbling, rattling and ear pressure, were caused by acoustic pressure waves in the atmosphere, the source of which is unknown.
CRACKS OCCURRED IN THE WALL OF THE HOUSE
The statement stated that the tremors were initially caused by the earthquake or explosions triggered by the military exercise in Poland, with seismologists opining that these possibilities were out of reach.
According to information obtained from police sources, the tremors caused no loss of life or property, except for cracks in the wall of a house on the island of Bornholm, which has a population of about 40,000.
GEUS and the Danish Ministry for Climate, Energy and Infrastructure are reported to be continuing their investigations into the incident. (AA)
