According to the written statement issued by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Hurricane Mocha, which hit the coastal areas of the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, caused heavy rains and winds, and yesterday there were landslides in some areas. .

The Bangladeshi government took extensive measures to respond to Hurricane Mocha in advance.

TEN THOUSAND FAMILIES AFFECTED

Tens of thousands of families were affected by the hurricane, houses and important facilities were destroyed. Especially the Arakan refugee camps in Teknaf city of Bangladesh and nearby Bangladeshis suffered damage due to this disaster.

OCHA also announced that a more detailed report on Hurricane Mocha, which hit the Bangladesh-Myanmar border yesterday, will be released within 24 hours.

A statement from the Arakan Youth Charitable Association in Sittwe, the capital of Myanmar’s Arakan state, said that residents of the region took shelter in high-rise buildings against the risk of flooding, and more than 700 people were found wounds.
