The plane carrying the votes cast abroad landed in Ankara
On behalf of the Supreme Electoral Council (YSK), polling committees were established in 73 countries and 156 foreign representations for 3 million 416 thousand 98 voters registered in the foreign electoral roll, within the framework of the May 14 elections.
After the voting process carried out on May 9 in the representations abroad, the votes cast in the countries where Turkish citizens reside in Europe were sent to Turkey with 3 rented planes. In this context, one of the planes landed at the EsenboÄŸa airport.
The authorities placed sealed sacks containing the votes taken from the plane in the trucks that were waiting on the platform, and the minutes were drawn up.
Votes cast in other countries are also brought to Turkey by diplomatic courier under security measures. All votes cast abroad will be brought to Ankara by these means.
All votes in question will be delivered to the Overseas District Election Board at the ATO Congress and will be counted simultaneously with the other votes starting at 5:00 p.m., when the voting process ends on May 14.
Voting at the customs gates will continue until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14 for voters who are registered on the foreign electoral roll and are unable to vote within the specified time period in the country in which they are located. (AA)
