Horrible accident in India: bus fell from the bridge
23 people died in the passenger bus that fell from the bridge in Khargone, India.
A passenger bus skidded off the road at the Dongargaon bridge, near the Dasanga district of the city of Khargone, ANI News reported. Authorities reported that 23 people on the bus that fell off the bridge were killed, 25 injured were treated at Khargone regional hospital and 11 seriously injured were taken to Indore city.
Although the cause of the accident is still unknown, it was indicated that the bus driver, who was treated, later changed his first statements about the accident.
The state government announced that the families of those killed in the accident will receive financial aid of Rs 400,000, Rs 50,000 for the seriously injured and Rs 25,000 for the slightly injured.
Expressing his sadness over the bus accident, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will provide financial relief to the families of the deceased in Rs 200,000 and Rs 50,000 to the injured. (AA)
