Chileans laugh: President stuck in slide
Chile’s ‘youngest’ president, Gabriel Boric, 37, got stuck at the end of the slide in the children’s playground he went to on Saturday and couldn’t get out for a long time.
The moments when the young leader barely strayed from the path he was stuck on with his own efforts went viral on social media.
The woman, who watched the event, which was mocked in the media, can be heard laughing in the video saying: “Very funny, here goes… The president is stuck.” In the video it is seen that his wife, who descended from the other part of the slide, kissed the Chilean leader and comforted him.
Former student leader Gabriel Boric won a historic electoral victory in 2021, becoming the youngest president in Chilean history.
THE OPPOSITION REACTED: BROKEN THE SLIDE
Boric had visited the region over the weekend to vote in the election of the members of the Constitutional Commission.
Although the opposition was quick to accuse Boric of “acting stupid”, he went to the park after the incident and the mayor of Punta Arenas announced that the slide was broken.
