IAEA: Situation in the region is unpredictable and dangerous

IAEA Director Grossi said in a statement that the overall situation near the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is becoming increasingly unpredictable and potentially dangerous.

“I am extremely concerned about the nuclear safety and security risks facing the plant,” Grossi said. “We must act immediately to prevent the threat of a major nuclear accident and its consequences for the public and the environment,” he said.

THE INSTALLATION IS PROTECTED

Emphasizing that the parties must compromise and that the facility must be protected, Grossi said: “This large nuclear facility must be protected. “I will continue to press for all parties to commit to achieving this vital goal, and the IAEA will continue to do everything possible to help ensure nuclear safety at the plant.”
