In a joint written statement by the German Ministry of Foreign and Interior Affairs, it was stated that the victims of the earthquake in Turkey who lived with their relatives in Germany were allowed to stay in Germany for 3 more months.
In the statement, it was stated that those who entered Germany with a valid visa issued by a German diplomatic mission in Turkey between February 6 and May 7, 2023 will be exempted from the residence permit requirement until August 6.
WHO DOES IT APPLY TO?
In the statement, it was indicated that said regulation will enter into force tomorrow and is valid for Turkish citizens who have obtained a visa through a “simplified process” and are legally in Germany.
The statement noted that the people in question did not need to go to the immigration office.
The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior agreed to provide visas for Turks and Syrians living in the country to bring their close relatives, who were affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, to Germany for a period of 3 months. .
In this context, approximately 9,500 Turkish citizens affected by the earthquake received visas for their temporary stay in Germany, and approximately 900 Turkish citizens received visas within the framework of family reunification for the same reasons. (AA)
